- 1 package Puff Pastry (or pizza dough for a heartier option)
- 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened; goat cheese can be used)
- 1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese (mozzarella can be used)
- 2 medium Sliced Jalapenos (fresh or pickled)
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder (or use fresh minced garlic for more flavor)
- 1 large Egg (for egg wash, or use milk for vegan option)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface until it’s smooth and even.
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, sliced jalapenos, and garlic powder until well combined.
- Cut the pastry into strips, about 1 inch wide.
- Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture at one end of each strip.
- Twist the pastry around the cheese filling, creating fun spirals. Seal the ends to prevent the filling from spilling out.
- Place the twists on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the twists for a nice golden color.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and flaky.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
