Description

A delightful and healthier take on the classic Chicken Parmesan, featuring crispy chicken, marinara sauce, and gooey melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for drizzling
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, grated parmesan, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs.
  4. Dip each chicken breast into the eggs, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Place the coated chicken on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Drizzle olive oil over the chicken for extra crispiness.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Remove from the oven and spoon marinara sauce over each breast.
  9. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and return to the oven for another 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  10. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve warm.

Notes

For extra crispiness, mix Italian seasoning, garlic powder, or paprika into the breadcrumb mixture.
