- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for drizzling
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, grated parmesan, salt, and pepper.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs.
- Dip each chicken breast into the eggs, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Place the coated chicken on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Drizzle olive oil over the chicken for extra crispiness.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and spoon marinara sauce over each breast.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and return to the oven for another 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted.
- Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve warm.
Notes
For extra crispiness, mix Italian seasoning, garlic powder, or paprika into the breadcrumb mixture.
